DESIGNING TO INSPIRE

Founded in 2016, Studio YUDA is an architecture firm that thrives on the dynamic interplay of two distinct worlds—those of its founders, Alexandros Darsinos and YuChen Guo, who first met while studying at Columbia University’s GSAPP. Their shared passion for pushing the boundaries of design, coupled with their unique, complementary perspectives, has shaped Studio Yuda into a firm that constantly challenges conventional ideas and explores new ways to conceive space.

Alexandros Darsinos brings a strong passion for creative, conceptual design and a wealth of knowledge of the built environment. His office in Nashville, Tennessee, serves as the firm’s main base of operations for the US, where his vision drives the exploration of new design concepts that engage and inspire.

On the other hand, YuChen Guo, based in Shanghai, offers a more experimental and culturally nuanced approach, blending the influences of Eastern and Western design philosophies. Alongside partners Beidi Zhan and Siqi Yang, YuChen leads the Shanghai office, cultivating innovative, context-driven design solutions that resonate on an international scale.

Studio YUDA is known for its versatility, having completed a diverse range of projects that include architecture, interior design, landscape, furniture, and installation design. The firm’s broad portfolio demonstrates its ability to create immersive experiences that span multiple disciplines, always with an emphasis on craftsmanship, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of human experience.

Studio YUDA was born from the last names of YUchen and DArinos. Although, flipped yuda takes on a richer meaning: “DAYU,” derived from the Chinese language, embodies the firm’s philosophy: a pursuit that transcends form, aiming to discover the full potential of space in projects of all scales and for diverse audiences. For Studio YUDA, architecture is not merely a physical construct but a dynamic field—one that captures the unpredictability and richness of life itself. They focus on the emotions within human-space interactions, believing that design should facilitate a tangible connection between users, materials, and scale.

At Studio YUDA, the design process is rooted in the belief that space is a living, evolving entity—constantly shifting and adapting to its users’ needs. By embracing this fluidity and unpredictability, the YUDA team ensures that every project they undertake is an exploration of what space can be, a pursuit that goes beyond the physical to create a deeper, richer experience for those who inhabit it.
